Hello, everyone. My name’s Chris Anh Khoa. I’m in grade 7. I am a student of class 9022B. Today I would like to tell you about my Mid-autumn festival at the school I have attended for 4 years. In my opinion, there are many interesting festivals in Vietnam around the year. Among those, I like the Mid-autumn festival best. This festival is held on the 15th of August (lunar calendar). In this festival, all the children would gather in the communal house to perform or watch the lion dance. And then they move around the community with beautiful lanterns and sing some festival songs together. Finally, they have a good time enjoying delicious moon cakes and fruits and I also had the same fun festival at Flamingo Language Institute. The school has organized a lot of festivals before but this year’s Mid-autumn Festival is the one I remember the most.
All the of teachers are very beautiful in their dresses that day, which really surprised me. I love to see them in the costumes of the two characters so much: the Moon Lady and the Moon Man.
My beloved school is decorated with vivid images such as the moon lady and man, the moon, the Banyan Tree. The school has arranged a lot of activities to keep us interested, too. That day I brought my own moon cake and beautiful lantern and moved around the school with my favourite lantern and enjoy the moon cake with my classmates. Before I went home, I received a small and beautiful present from the teachers. Festivals show our culture, so I hope Mid-autumn festival will be preserved for good.
